All About Us
We are a team of professional teachers who's passion is working with children in the early childhood develop age group. Children are some of our greatest passions and we are grateful everyday for having our Byrd House children in our lives. We love to incorpate many outlets for learning therefore our teachings are a perfect blend of
. Children are encouraged to learn through play for much of our lessons. We incorporate lessons that are enhanced with real world connections through the outdoors and projects. This approach encourages skill application and positive learning habits making learning fun and self motivating. Our philosophy values the human spirt and the development of the whole child; physical, social, emotional and cognitive. We strongly believe that young children, in particular, need a lot of one-on-one nurturing, and they definitely get that here! The children in our care have fun playing, as well as learning with friends and care providers. One of our goals is to teach children love and respect for others, as well as for themselves, and they learn so much just by interaction with us and with each other. They learn to follow directions and simple rules: patience, manners, self confidence and how to treat others, and so much more.
Our Mission
Our mission for Byrd House Beginnings is to provide safe, affordable, high quality child care for families and the community. In doing so, We support families in helping to mold and support children to become confident, strong children and enjoy learning. Byrd House Beginnings is primarily a play based program for children ages six weeks to school age. We provide a home environment where children are encouraged to develop at their own pace. We are committed to the families we work with, providing support and encouragement in every way possible.
We are fully licensed through the state of Oregon. We all have clean backgrounds and are registered in the Oregon central background registry. We CPR certified, trained in identifying abuse and neglect and have our food handlers card. We take above and beyond the required continuing education classes to better serve the children we work with. We are working closely with the state of Oregon's early childhood education department star rated program called Sparks (QRIS).
Oregon's Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS) is a program that raises the quality and consistency of child care and early learning programs across the state. The Quality Rating System recognizes, rewards and builds on what early learning and development programs are already doing well. It helps ensure children in QRIS programs are ready for kindergarten by connecting programs and providers with free tools, financial incentives and professional advice that they can put into practice with confidence.
